The Property

The Glamour House - Exclusive use large country house in Norfolk

Inside

  • Style: Luxurious hedonism. Every wall and ceiling flaunts vibrant, patterned wallpaper - from stripes to tropical foliage - contrasting against colourful, plump furnishings, emphasising the property's eccentric design.
  • Bedrooms and Bathrooms: Nine bedrooms, all exuding style and sophisticated luxury in grand, colourful measures. The main house has six double bedrooms (two of which can be made as twins) and five bathrooms: The Bijou room boasts a Ferrari-red bed, the Green Room is decked in geometric green and cream patterns, the Versace room is striped in black and white with a bed between Roman columns and the fanciful Chinoiserie twin room is inspired by the Orient. The 1950's style Hollywood Room has two double beds, and the fantastical eight-poster bed in the Red Room - which makes two large singles as standard - can be transformed into a luxurious sleep chamber to fit six. In the adjoining cottage there are three bedrooms (a double cabin room, a double balcony bedroom and a four-poster terrace room), a sitting room (with a double sofa-bed) and a bathroom set apart from the party hub.
  • For relaxation: As well as the dedicated chill out lounge in the basement, there's oodles of space to kick back in plump sofas by the log fires in the Den and Pavilion room. Beauty treatments, yoga and massage are all available by arrangement.
  • For recreation: The entertainment provisions are supreme: a leisure lounge in the basement houses a six-foot cinema screen, sound-proofed studio, dressing up box and chill out room. In addition to the board games and books to keep you occupied, DJ's, musicians, comedians, magicians and cookery classes with a Michelin-star chef can all be organised at the click of your fingers. There is also an exclusive beach hut for use on Old Hunstanton Beach (just 10-minutes drive away), and the likes of bike rides, shooting trips, trout fishing, horse riding, seal watching and kitesurfing can also be organised.
  • Practicalities: Laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer; drinks fridge for up to 100 bottles. Microwave, dishwasher, large catering fridge/freezer

Outside

A secret garden and walled terrace lures guests outside to make the most of the English countryside setting. Alongside a patio and gazebo with alfresco dining furniture and a BBQ, there is a coach house that will be equipped with a hot tub and spa treatment rooms in time for summer 2009. There is also a parking area for up to six cars (and additional street parking).

Food and wine

  • DIY: The striking black, white and red lacquered dining room seats 22, and there are two fully equipped kitchens - one sunshine-yellow family kitchen with a double Aga and a large kitchen table, and a separate kitchen/scullery for caterers to use so that they don't interfere with your privacy. If you choose to self-cater the fridge can be stocked and a pre-prepared meal ready on your arrival.
  • In-house cuisine: If you prefer to concentrate on having fun, hand the cooking over to the in-house caterers who will organise chefs and waiting staff according to your requirements. From buffets and barbecues to banquets and canapés, sample menus using local and organic produce are available from £22.50 per head. Alcohol is also available from a local supplier, or if you prefer to BYO there is a corkage fee of £6.
